A Flea in Her Ear
Suzanne is delighted to be returning to the Michigan Shakespeare Festival as costume designer for A Flea in Her Ear. She debuted at MSF with The Importance of Being Earnest in 2014, for which she won the Wilde Award for best costume design, and then went on to design Richard II in 2016 and The Taming of the Shrew in 2017.
Suzanne has worked in the world of costumes for over 40 years and trained in England at the Wimbledon School of Art and Design after which, she worked in London and then in Boston, MA where she designed mostly for opera. In addition to having the pleasure to design for Michigan Shakespeare Festival, She is honored to be a resident artist at the Purple Rose Theatre Company and has also designed for many of the other local theaters, including Tipping Point Theater, Wild Swan Theater, The University of Michigan School of Music, Theater and Dance, and Performance Network Theater. Regionally, she has designed at Milliken University and for the Pine Mountain Music Festival.
In addition to 2014, Suzanne has been nominated for Wilde Awards 3 times and winner in 2020 and 2021.
She has also been nominated for awards by Broadway World, Detroit.
She would like to thank Jan, the MSF family, and her husband for enabling her to continue a lifelong love affair with the theatre.
