Lauren "Lo Mo" Montgomery
Costume Designer: Macbeth

Lauren is a Wilde Award nominated Detroit area costume designer.

She started as a performing arts major at Wayne State University, and later apprenticed and understudied at The Purple Rose Theatre Company.

She previously worked for the festival as a costume designer, assistant designer, and wardrobe supervisor from 2010-2017. For MSF she has designed Driving Miss Daisy, Much Ado About Nothing, and the award-winning epic Henry IV.

Most recently, she designed Taking Out the Fucking Trash! at Ant Hall, and The Taming at Open Book Theatre Company.

When not designing, Lauren works as a sewing technician making custom jeans for Detroit Denim. She is also a facilitator for Detroit Public Theatre’s Shakespeare In Prison. She can be seen performing twice a month at The State Wayne Theatre with Michigan’s Rocky Horror Preservation Society, who will be sharing the stage with Barry Bostwick at The Fisher Theatre later this year!

She would like to thank her husband Ian Dixon for his unending support of all of Lauren’s crazy ideas, as well as Becky Koupparis for giving her a safe, free space to design, perform, and grow for the past 8 years.
