THE OFFICIAL SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN

Valerie is beyond excited to be the Assistant Technical Director and Adapter of Scenic Designs for the 2026 MI Shakespeare Festival season.

 

She is currently pursuing her BFA in Theatre Design & Technology (scenic) and her BS in Electrical & Computer Engineering here at Wayne State University.

 

She has been a scenic/prop carpenter/artist/designer/technician for various department and student-run productions, such as The Play That Goes Wrong, SpongeBob SquarePants, and the upcoming Hair.

 

Additionally, she has worked with the BRED Hip-Hop Theatre Festival (scenic design) and WSU's The Underground Theatre Company for Carrie (scenic design), and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and Glory (technical direction).
