One stage. One city. One shared home. Songs for Our Shared Home is Thistle Rose Academy of Arts’ annual spring performance, bringing together artists from across the region and beyond alongside the Wayne State University community of students, alumni, staff, and faculty in an intergenerational, interdisciplinary collaboration of music and movement. Sponsored by the Maggie Allesee Department of Theatre and Dance at Wayne State University, this large-scale gathering features Missa Gaia by Paul Winter and centers care for one another and for the Earth we share. Rooted in mentorship, artistic excellence, and civic engagement, the performance reflects the department’s mission in action as artists trained in Detroit return to build and serve their community.
