THE OFFICIAL SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN

Steve Lee
Friar Lawrence / Sampson
Duncan / Murderer / Seward
Steve is returning to his fourth tour with the MiSFITs, and is very excited to be back on stage!
He spent most of 2024 wearing his Director Hat and recently directed 12 Incompetent Jurors at Riverwalk Theatre in Lansing, Michigan.
He enjoys performing on stage by doing stand-up comedy and performing in numerous shows the past few years, most notably as Jason in Mankind at Peppermint Creek Theatre Company, Trevor in The Play that Goes Wrong for Owosso Community Players, Sam in The Flick, and Oberon in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, as well as many others: Coyote on a Fence, Huck Finn, Serious Money.
He is very glad to be a part of this educational tour again because he finds that in each show there are life lessons that reflect where we are in life and we are able to see our lives from a new perspective.
He’s noticed that most students enjoy seeing the text of Shakespeare leave the page and come to life on stage the way it was meant to be experienced. Particularly there are always a handful of students who deeply resonate with the performances and are interested in joining the theatre community in their schools and local theatres. The memories of these shows truly inspire the next generation of actors and ignite a passion that we as cast members have felt and still feel burning today. It’s amazing that we can carry Shakespeare’s influence to yet another great generation of students.
