Marissa is originally from Los Angeles, California where she began her career as a professional actor and dancer/choreographer.
She has lived in Kalamazoo for 17 years. She is the Managing Artistic Director and Co-Founder of Face Off Theatre Company, as well as, the Owner/Associate Broker of Blue Horizon Realty Group-Keller Williams.
Marissa graduated from Western Michigan University's Theatre program with a BFA in Theatre Performance in 2013.
She has directed various shows in Kalamazoo, including She Persisted and Three Little Birds with Farmer’s Alley Theatre, Dontrell Who Kissed the Sea with WMU Theatre/Face Off Theatre Company, It Can’t Happen Here and The Learned Ladies at Kalamazoo College, The Piano Lesson (Black Arts & Cultural Center), In the Heights (Kalamazoo Central High School), Grease (Hackett Catholic Prep), Dreamgirls, The Mountaintop, Pipeline, Yellowman, Goodnight, Tyler and Sunset Baby (Face Off Theatre).
Marissa has also performed in Chicken & Biscuits (Farmer’s Alley Theatre), By the Way, Meet Vera Stark and The Radiation Play (Kalamazoo Civic Theatre), Jar the Floor, Detroit 67’, In the Blood, Been Lovin’ You: An August Wilson Project (Face Off Theatre), and Tony N’ Tina’s Wedding (WMU Theatre).
Marissa resides in Kalamazoo with her husband Harold and three beautiful children-Lyla, Hunter, and Estelle.
