Robert is a director, playwright, and actor.

Directing credits include Pericles (Wilde Awards: Best of the Bard and Best Director–Play), The Merry Wives of Windsor (Wilde Award: Best of the Bard), The Two Gentlemen of Verona (Wilde Awards: Best of the Bard and Best Director–Play), The Tempest, As You Like It (Wilde Award: Best of the Bard), The Rivals, Cymbeline (Wilde Award: Best of the Bard),She Stoops To Conquer, Love’s Labour’s Lost (Wilde Award: Best of the Bard), and Tartuffe (Wilde Award: Best Comedy) at MSF; Cymbeline at Strawdog Theatre; Conor McPherson’s adaptation of The Dance of Death and the world premiere of Karen Tarjan’s The White Road (Jeff Award nomination: Best Production–Play, Midsize) at Irish Theatre of Chicago; the world premiere of Jacob Mundell’s Into That Darkness at the Edge Theatre; and the world premieres of Chris Hainsworth’s adaptation of Hunger and John Hildreth’s adaptation of Treasure Island, both at Lifeline Theatre. As a playwright, Robert has written over a dozen theatrical adaptations, which have been performed all across the U.S. and Canada (as well as in Asia, Australia, Europe, and South America). His plays have won numerous Jeff Awards in Chicago and four of his scripts are licensed by Playscripts, Inc. As an actor, Robert has appeared in numerous seasons at MSF, as well as over fifty productions in the Chicago area.

AND Robert is delighted to return for a sixth season onstage at MSF, after previously appearing in Richard II (King Richard), Julius Caesar (Brutus), King Lear (Fool), Cyrano de Bergerac (Comte de Guiche), and The Taming of the Shrew (Hortensio), among others. Regionally, he has appeared in nearly 20 world premiere literary adaptations at Chicago’s Lifeline Theatre (including Monstrous Regiment, Neverwhere, Around the World in 80 Days, The Woman in White, and The Return of the King); numerous productions with Irish Theatre of Chicago (including Doubt, Molly Sweeney, Mojo Mickybo, and A Whistle in the Dark); as well as work with the Illinois Shakespeare Festival, Lakeside Shakespeare, New American Theater, Theatre at the Center, Goodman Theatre, City Lit, Strawdog Theatre, the Hypocrites, and many others.
